I remember it like it was yesterday. I was working on a wedding day timeline for one of my couples when I got a call. I picked up the phone and a voice of a young woman said, “Hi! I’m Cari, I’m from South Dakota. We are planning a backyard wedding in Las Vegas and I need help”.
Cari and Bradley had been planning a wedding for some time when they decided to hire a wedding planner. They were going for a rustic chic backyard wedding and booked the Red Rock Mansion for their special day. After that, things started getting complicated. Their November wedding was coming up pretty fast and the bride decided it was time to get help. She called me and there was the spark! We got along very fast and started planning her wonderful backyard wedding.
Although it was supposed to be a simple event for the closest family and friends, the bride wanted to make sure everything’s designed in style. She chose wine and gray with gold accents color palette for her rustic chic backyard wedding. The wedding ceremony was surrounded by the trees and greenery. A wedding arch decorated with an off-white draping and adorned with a floral arrangement in wine and gray were the focal point of the ceremony area. For seating, we used mahogany polywood chairs to add the rustic feel. In addition to chairs, a burlap aisle runner with white lace was placed to add to the rustic theme. Hanging pew markers along the aisle were made out of the same flowers as the arrangement on the arch to incorporate the color scheme that Cari’d selected for her backyard wedding. A candlelit pathway along the aisle was the perfect solution to add the warm gold accent to this ceremony decor.
Cari and Bradley are very sweet, kind and family-oriented people. When planning their wedding they always had their guests in mind first. The reception set up consisted of a few round and rectangular tables to combine traditional and modern styles but also to create a simple family atmosphere. It was important for Cari that everyone at their wedding feels like at home rather than at a formal event. So we arranged family style seating to accommodate her wish.
All guest tables were covered with gray tablecloths and decorated with wine-colored petals and pillar and floating candles. Cari did not want any floral in her reception decor. To add a touch of romance to this simple yet elegant table decor we placed votive candles and picture frames at each table.
The wedding cake was placed on a low boy table covered with gold sequin fabric. We decided to light up the cake table making it a gorgeous centerpiece of the dancing area.
Even though it was a backyard wedding, Cari wanted to make sure that the entry area to the mansion looks nice. To make it personal and welcoming we created a walkway with hanging decor and photo frames with pictures of Cari and Bradley. Right at the entrance, we placed a welcome sign with Cari and Bradley’s names and a wedding date.
The entire backyard was lit up with bistro lights which created a cozy romantic atmosphere to celebrate Cari and Bradley’s union. M Place Productions provided photography at this event and I am happy to share them with you.
